Who is Blaine Roy?

“It’s a release,” says Blaine Roy.  “Music is part of who I am.”

Born and raised in South Louisiana, Blaine is 100% Cajun. He is the youngest child of Leo and Mary Roy’s five children and has a very close relationship with his family. ” I was raised on an eighty-two acre farm. So growing up I could sing as loud as I wanted and not bother anyone, except maybe my family.”

Blaine’s “Honky Tonk Heroes” include: George Strait, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, Ronnie Dunn, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Vern Gosdin, Hank William’s Jr…. and the list goes on.

While in college, Blaine started working at Cowboy’s Nite Club in Scott, La. There he would forge lasting relationships with many musicians of the various bands that would perform at the club. These various bands would call Blaine up to the stage to sing.

Blaine started his band Second Wind in 2002. It all started with a phone call to Steel Guitarist, Richard Comeaux. From there things quickly fell into place.

“It is a balancing act when you love music and your family. My beautiful wife and my two boys sacrifice time with me and I owe them priority time as well. You will never see me performing on holidays or special occasions for my family.”

“People have many different passions. Some travel, some hunt, some fish, and so on….  I sing.”
