A Christmas Interview with Bertie Higgins by Music Charts Magazine's Big Al Weekley.
Some know him by his great songs "Key Largo" and "Just Another Day In Paradise" and others by his active movie career. No matter how you know him Bertie Higgins is a great guy who is constantly involved in multiple projects.
Bertie Higgins's song Casablanca has become his largest hit gaining quadruple platinum status throughout the Pacific Rim alone.
Sunday Dec. 1st at 7:00 PM on Hallmark Channel USA is the yearly Hollywood Christmas Parade. The Hollywood Christmas Parade ( www.HollywoodChristmasParade.org ) starts airing on the Hallmark Channel on Dec 11th and will air several times in December. It will be on multiple channels including the armed forces network. Appearing in this years parade promoting his new Christmas movie Christmas In Hollywood, will be Multi Platinum recording artist, actor/director Bertie Higgins. Also appearing will be co-stars of the movie China's own recording sensation Jiang Zi Long and Darren Dowler lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders. Be watching as the cast of Christmas In Hollywood makes their appearance in the parade that has historically became a family tradition and the most popular next to the Macy's Parade.

Darwin Davidson co-hosts, along with David Manski, the weekly bluegrass show Bronzewound, every Thursday night from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, on WERU-FM, Community Radio, Blue Hill, Maine. WERU-FM is a listener-supported community radio station that broadcasts a 12,000 watt signal to Eastern Maine and also over the internet at www.weru.org.
Darwin’s first broadcast was in September 1997. His playlists are composed of albums that he receives at the radio station, artists that he meets at various bluegrass festivals, at the IBMA annual trade show and festival, and from his own bluegrass music collection that he started before becoming a DJ on WERU. Every show brings a combination of classic bluegrass, probably some “newgrass”, a bit of old-time string band music and possibly an interview with bluegrass performers talking about their latest album release.

Jewel Eugene Akens recorded with The Medallions on Dootone, with The Four Dots on Freedom, and then with singer Eddie Daniels as “Jewel and Eddie” on the Silver Records label in 1960. A number of his recordings featured Eddie Cochran on guitar. He later went solo and recorded “The Birds And The Bees” in 1965, on the Era Records label. The single went to Number 3 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart that year, and Number 2 on the Cash Box chart. It reached Number 29 in the UK Singles Chart. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. But the follow-up, “Georgie Porgie” only reached Number 68.
