The Hotdisc chart is compiled from DJs and industry professionals’ ratings of songs currently being promoted on the Rush Released CD. They are not airplay charts, as airplay charts cannot work in Europe because there are no terrestrial country stations. The hundreds of country programmes on air which we service are likely to play a particular song only twice at most in a three month period, therefore rendering airplay charts insignificant in Europe. It works well in America where there are plenty of non-stop country stations but it does not work here. Any Airplay Chart you may see claiming to provide this service is bogus and Hotdisc does not condone these charts at all. They are misleading at best for the reasons stated.

The Hotdisc charts are put together weekly using ratings supplied by DJs who give scores to every song on the last three months’ editions of Rush Released. The scores are averaged out per week to give an accurate guide to the songs which are being championed by the industry. The aim is to showcase the songs which the industry professionals are flagging up as quality songs. This is a very useful exercise as it is free of politics, hype and rigging and done solely on merit!

Kelly Lang - Throwback - Olivia Newton John - Paul Shaffer - Lee Greenwood - Music Charts Magazine® Exclusive Audio Interview - TG Sheppard - Country Music Hit SongsShe is a Nashville Country music staple.

Singer and songwriter, a household name, wife to famous country singer TG Sheppard, an influence to many in Nashville, and loved by all of those that know her across the world:

It is Music Charts Magazine’s pleasure to Present to you –

“Kelly Lang”

She has graced the stage of the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. She has performed with and had her songs recorded by some of music’s biggest legends spanning throughout all genres of music. She has made numerous appearances on the biggest music shows in television history and her songs can be heard on radio waves throughout the world.

She is Kelly Lang.

Kelly was born the youngest of 4 children in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her father, Velton Lang, was the road manager of Country superstar, Conway Twitty for over 25 years.

Kelly recorded her first Billboard single, “Lady, Lady” at the age of 15, filmed a video that came to the attention of CMT—, and in rapid fire time was soon appearing as a regular on Nashville’s popular Ralph Emery Morning Show.

Kelly’s teen years were a whirlwind that found the dark haired, green-eyed beauty poised on the very edge of a breakthrough to major stardom. She moved to national attention as a frequent guest on the highly popular Music City Tonight, with Crook & Chase, televised on TNN. Kelly next made the finals of Ed McMahon’s popular weekly-televised Star Search— bringing her vibrant, emotion filled vocal style to mainstream audiences.

Kelly became a semi-regular artist on Ralph’s Emery’s popular “Nashville Now” on TNN, pulling in major viewer mail and a large national fan base. On the road in concert, Kelly shared billings with legends such as Barry Gibb, Ronnie Milsap, Brenda Lee, George Jones, Lorrie Morgan, Ricky Skaggs, TG Sheppard and many of the hot new artists from her own peer group. Kelly has made music her true passion.

Along with balancing a busy career as a performing artist, Kelly is a highly sought after and accomplished songwriter and producer. Kelly’s songs have been featured on the major motion picture screen and have been recorded by artists such as Lorrie Morgan, Jerry Lee Lewis, Crystal Gayle, George Jones, BJ Thomas, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Janie Frickie to name a few.

Kelly released her third studio album, “11:11” in late 2011, which gained much critical acclaim. The single and video for her popular breakup anthem “I’m Done” has received over 230,000 YouTube hits and can be seen on some of the biggest music video networks. Kelly’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Shades Of K”, a compilation of love songs, was released in April 2013. Kelly and her country superstar husband, TG Sheppard, released “Iconic Duets” in late 2013. The album, which features some of the greatest duets of all time, is already gaining rave reviews from the media and has quickly become a fan favorite.

As a recent inductee into the North American Country Music Hall Of Fame, Kelly Lang’s career continues to grow at a rapid pace. She was recently invited by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees to perform “Islands In The Stream”  in honor of Kenny Roger’s, at his recent Country Music Hall Of Fame induction. Kelly and Barry also performed together at the Grand Ole Opry.

Kelly’s lyrics, voice and high energy show reach out to audiences of all ages. She brings her life experiences to the stage each night and shines as she connects with crowds of people, leaving them begging for more of her tender, moving and grooving songs. Kelly Lang is a true artist in every sense of the word.

About:

Steve7

Steve Wilson, Banjo & Bass

Steve Wilson started off as most musicians likely did, growing up with a love of playing music with his family. He developed a respect for the sound, look and feel of the instruments themselves. Later in life, he was fortunate to find himself working in Nashville at Gibson, within the Custom Art Shop, designing and building custom art pieces. Many of these were special orders for a long, distinguished list of players. He learned from the best, and this experience would leave an imprint on his life that stayed with him to this day. While in Nashville, Steve also honed his craft in Bluegrass music, specifically, playing the Banjo, which became his favorite and master instrument. Studying with many of the well-respected teachers in the area, playing countless hours with local bands, and lending his talents in the recording studio from time to time, Bluegrass music was definitely where Steve planned to hang his hat for the long haul. After moving back to NY to raise his children closer to their extended family, Steve joined a couple of bands, enjoyed the festival seasons, his friends and did instrument repairs for folks here and there while casually building a custom guitar or banjo along the way. Now that the kids are grown and Steve and his wife, Melanie, have settled back down South in what they see as their “forever home” of South Carolina, he is looking forward to getting back to pickin’ the banjo and building instruments on a more than casual level again. Steve has enjoyed playing bluegrass music with several bands including, Plexigrass, Carol Beaugard and Blue Express, Grasscutters, C&T Bluegrass, Cannonhole Rounders, and Dave Snyder and Last Road.

Below is a link with an account of some of the Custom Guitars in collector Mike Slubowski’s assemblage. Mike recently said about his guitars…

Designed by Steve Wilson, formerly of Gibson Custom Shop, Nashville, TN.

ES 175 Custom Vine

“I really treasure the guitars that Steve built, and they are a wonderful part of my collection.”

We appreciate Mike’s support and are happy to have been a part of his love for instruments. Please visit his forum below with information about the collector guitar’s Steve built for him while at Gibson.

Will4

Will Clark

Will Clark was born and raised in the mountains of South Carolina and may well have been born with an instrument in his hand….that’s up for debate. His Mama and Daddy fully encouraged his musical talent throughout his adolescence and watched him grow and flourish from the learning opportunities that are thick in the South Carolina bluegrass region.
Will was playing the mandolin by the time he was five years old and as he grew, the guitar, banjo, and later dobro and bass would follow. Not only was it clear that playing music was in his future…he could sing like there was no tomorrow! As a young boy, Clark found himself onstage with IIIrd Tyme Out at Pickens High School during one of their songs and felt in his heart that there was no looking back from that feeling. This was what he wanted to do forever.
As a teen, Will was a member of some regional bands that gained local fame, Tucker’s Town of Cashiers, NC and the popular Bostic Yard of Rutherfordton, NC. Later on, Will toured with the great James King and his band, as well as Williamson Branch, and developed a great working knowledge of what it’s like to live on the road. Surprisingly, this didn’t deter him…Will must be destined to be a Bluegrass musician. Lucky for Wilson Banjo Co., he is with our band family now and we are proud to bring him to your stage.

Dakoda

Dakoda Hensley

Talented young bass player, Dakoda Hensley has travelled a lot with his family since the age of ten, and while doing so, he began playing music. During his journey Dakoda was fortunate enough to play on many stages nationwide with professional bluegrass musicians including Infamous String Dusters, Jesse McReynolds, George Hamilton III, and many sub-regional bands. After traveling for his family he attended ETSU (East Tennessee State University), he played in two bluegrass bands, one country band, and another folk band. It was during this time that he began learning bass, guitar, and harmony vocals under the guidance of the esteemed ETSU faculty.
Hensley and Wilson Banjo Co. guitar player, Kyle Leapard have history and have played music together for quite some time socially and in a previous band, NewFire. Dakoda also met Steve Wilson in another band, Last Road, in which they both played for about a year. He is the only member of the current touring Wilson Banjo Co. band band to appear on the latest release “The Guardian”, having played bass throughout the album and doing a fantastic job. Dakoda also plays mandolin with Wilson Banjo Co. and we feel very fortunate to have this young man on board!

Kyle

Kyle Leapard

Kyle Leapard has a long love of music in his history and began getting serious with his guitar playing around age 11. Soon after that, at age 13, he picked up the banjo began his future in bluegrass music. When Leapard was 16 years old, he joined a band called Newfire, playing with them until he was 18, at which time he decided to go into the Army. Kyle was deployed to Iraq not long after completing his training to help run aviation combat missions. Upon his return stateside, he quickly picked up with his old band for a while longer, releasing an album during that time. Last year, when asked to join Wilson Banjo Co., he didn’t think twice, music and military have always been the two passions and dreams he wanted to follow. Kyle is a great vocalist and guitar player and just an all around fun, outgoing person to be around. We are so proud of his military service and to have him as part of the band.
