Ask your radio station to hear Lacy Jay Syler’s song “Forever Every Day”. – It’s a great tune!
Who is Lacy Jay Syler?
The biggest part of being in this business as a new artist, is to be an entertainer. Lacy Jay Syler is that and so much more. Not only does Lacy have a singing voice that is uniquely identifiable, different from anyone else out there, she has a down home Country charm that makes audiences laugh with her subtle comedy.
Lacy Jay comes from a long line of country music entertainers. Her grand parents, Buck and Connie McCarty were on the country music road for many years. Lacy’s mother, Jodi and her brother Matthew were raised on the bus and have many great stories about the adventures they had growing up on the road. From the time Lacy was about four years old, her family knew that little Lacy Jay was very gifted, as all she wanted to do was sing, and sing she can!
Time and experience shows that Lacy Jay has been honing and developing her craft, both in front of audiences and in the studio. Lacy Jay is preparing for her second Album and a video release. Before Thanksgiving 2014, “Wide Open” from her new Album has been produced into a video that looks to be a 4 wheelin’, mud slingin’ down home on the farm Country Fun!
Lacy Jay writes songs with her Uncle Matthew that people want to hear. From her first album, “Living My Life” a song that the audience can relate too, catches what is going on in the first line of the song, “Love is A Natural Disaster”. An unforgettable song you can sing along with, from the first time you hear it.
“Living My Life” Album, which sold out in just the first few weeks, proves Lacy Jay is already a hit over seas. Filled with Country Western Music sounds from 1955; progressive country; Pop Country and Ballads. The album opens with a tune of love trials and tribulations “Trouble Maker”. With a fresh new approach, Lacy Jay Syler stands out on her own. Then “Dear John” sets us up, making fun out of first love gone wrong. Like a good joke, it’s fun and done right, then delivers the punch line, Your all done, Dear John!
Plans are on the drawing board for Lacy Jay to tour Denmark and Norway, get more shows, on the radio and publicity in the U.S.

THE MUSICIAN’S LIFE.
I started playing saloon piano when I was about sixteen…
the only boogie piano guy in the area.
The room would get rockin’ and I might play one song for a half hour non-stop.
I got a lot of attention, especially from the girls.
I like attention. Isn’t that why we go into the music business?
It can’t be the financial security.
ON THE ROAD…
It was getting dark and the exit sign said Casper, Wyoming.
The Holiday Inn was full,
so we started cruising around town looking for someplace to stay.
I went into one motel and heard cowboys yipping and yelling in the lounge.
The clerk said, “I can rent you a room,
but you wouldn’t want to bring your wife in here. It’s rough on Saturday nights”
We finally found a place and then drove back to the Holiday Inn for dinner,
and had Cherries Jubilee for dessert.
My grandfather was an engineer on the Pennsylvania Railroad.
My grandmother was a telephone operator.
They met over the telephone,
which indirectly resulted in my being here.
TWO HIGH SPOTS IN MY MUSIC LIFE…
1. Roger Miller visiting our recording session.
I walked over to say I was a fan of his,
and he offered his hand and said, “Hi, I’m a fan of yours.”
2. I was talking to some songwriters on 16th Avenue, South,
and Harlan Howard said to me, “You’re my favorite songwriter.”
I bring these up every chance I get.
THE MUSIC CAREER…
There are factors at work we can’t control.
Besides change, there are chaos and luck, all wild cards.
If you are really good at what you do,
work hard, and are lucky, you’ve got a chance.
A chance has always been enough to keep me going.
A ticket in the race.
The Leesburg riots have been cancelled due to a lack of interest.
Misty is proud of her spaghetti sauce and I like it a lot.
I brought home a jar of Paul Newman’s sauce a couple of weeks ago,
but she hasn’t served it.
I think she’s jealous of Paul Newman.
I feel like I’m cheating on her… with Paul Newman.
Groucho Marx sent me an autographed picture, saying “Keep trying, Jack”.
I was a big fan of his, and had sent him a humorous little book I’d written.
Groucho was wheelchair bound and I was Alabammy bound.
I know that’s cruel but Groucho would have liked it.
Orlando is building a $155 million soccer stadium
in an area where many children are going hungry.
Misty just came from Publix.
She told me a guy said this to her:
“I saw you over there giving the bananas a dirty look.’
She said, “They started it.”

Music Charts Magazine® History
– Song for the month of November 2015:
Alvin Slaughter
“God Can”
God Can! is Alvin Slaughters third contemporary worship album by Integrity/Hosanna! Music. The album was recorded live at Upper Room Ministries in Dix Hills, New York, and released in 1996. On a much anticipated evening on Long Island, New York, 3,000 people came together from all around the tri-state area to worship God. Alvin Slaughter is a raw hide energy that packs a house. Alvin leads you through heartfelt worship, rejoicing and celebration while giving God the glory every second of it.
Alvin Slaughter is based out of New York City, where he was a member of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir until the early 1990’s when he was signed by Integrity Music and began his solo career. He has been nominated for several Dove Awards and has performed on the TBN television network. Joy Slaughter is his wife.

“Jeff Bates”
~ an intimate conversation ~
Presented by
Music Charts Magazine®
– Celebrity Audio Exclusive
Jeffery Wayne “Jeff” Bates (born September 19, 1963) in Bunker Hill, Mississippi is an American country singer. Jeff was signed to RCA Records in late 2002, Bates released his debut album Rainbow Man in May 2003. A second album, Leave the Light On, was released in 2005 on RCA. He left RCA in 2006. This album was followed by Jeff Bates in 2008 on the independent Black River Entertainment. Bates’ two RCA albums accounted for seven chart singles on the Billboard country charts, of which three reached top 40: “The Love Song” (his highest, at No. 8), “I Wanna Make You Cry” at No. 23, and “Long, Slow Kisses” at No. 17.
“As an artist, I have certain goals at this point in my life, and that is to make the music that I want to make, that’s true to me, and true to my fans,” says Bates. “I know I have the best fans in the world. They’ve been loyal, and they’ve been with me through thick and thin. I know what they ask for and what they want to hear, so I want to make that kind of music.”
And that is exactly what he’s done. Bates’ current secular project titled “Me and Conway” includes six original tunes and six Conway Twitty classics, one of which is a duet with the legendary Mrs. Loretta Lynn. “My fans have requested for years for me to record some Conway Twitty songs. Me and Conway is the answer to that request ,” Bates says.
Bates is also proud of his current Christmas album, titled “Once Upon A Star”. “It’s a very unique project, not like any other Christmas album you’ve ever heard. It’s the story of the nativity told from the perspective of the characters who were there,” explains Bates.
However, his life and career have not always been on such a positive path. Bates took a dark detour from life in the late 90s where drugs and alcohol overtook his world and landed him in jail. The day Bates woke up from behind the cold, metal bars, he knew that only one person could help him turn things around. “A lot of times you get trapped in a situation like that and you want to make a deal with God – get me out of here and I’ll be a better person,” Bates says. “I didn’t want that and I didn’t ask for that deal. I simply said I don’t want to be this person anymore … please help me be a better person. That was all I was after, no matter how long I had to stay in jail to do it.”
Some are not nearly as fortunate as Bates when they find themselves in that kind of situation, but he is one of the few who stayed strong in his choice to change. Just two years after being released from jail, Bates inked his first record deal with RCA Records and released his debut album, Rainbow Man. Three more albums would follow for Bates, including Leave the Light On (also on RCA), and his self-titled project and One Day Closer, both on Black River Entertainment.
However, his greatest accomplishment through it all is not scoring his first Top 10 single or having a hit album under his belt… it’s being a loving father to his beautiful daughter, Brianna.
“Being a daddy is my No. 1 job,” Bates smiles. “Nothing is as satisfying to me as being that little girl’s daddy. I try to give her a normal life when there’s nothing normal about doing what I do. One of the biggest changes with fatherhood for me is making decisions based on what’s good for her, rather than just what’s good for me or my career. God gave and trusted me and my wife with this little life, and I think that’s No. 1. What’s most important is making sure that she’s not only taken care of, but that we put thoughts into what we do to make her grow into the person we want her to be. She is so amazing!”
While continuing to work on his own musical projects, his book, working with other artists, and being a full-time daddy, Bates also maintains a busy touring schedule each year, as well as speaking engagements to share his story with those to help prevent them making the wrong decisions in life as he did some 20-years ago. “I share it all through song and story,” says Bates, who won the ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards title for Mainstream Country Artist in 2011. “I share the trials and tribulations to drug addiction, going to jail, finding Jesus in jail, and what He’s done in my life the past 14 years. I’ve been clean and sober now over 14 years.”
Not a single day goes by for Bates that he doesn’t count his life’s blessings. Bates is humbled by the fact that he is an inspiration to others and is honored to give back in any way he can, especially through music.

THE HOTDISC BRITISH & IRISH TOP 10
|
The Hotdisc chart is compiled from DJs and industry professionals’ ratings of songs currently being promoted on the Rush Released CD. They are not airplay charts, as airplay charts cannot work in Europe because there are no terrestrial country stations. The hundreds of country programmes on air which we service are likely to play a particular song only twice at most in a three month period, therefore rendering airplay charts insignificant in Europe. It works well in America where there are plenty of non-stop country stations but it does not work here. Any Airplay Chart you may see claiming to provide this service is bogus and Hotdisc does not condone these charts at all. They are misleading at best for the reasons stated.
The Hotdisc charts are put together weekly using ratings supplied by DJs who give scores to every song on the last three months’ editions of Rush Released. The scores are averaged out per week to give an accurate guide to the songs which are being championed by the industry. The aim is to showcase the songs which the industry professionals are flagging up as quality songs. This is a very useful exercise as it is free of politics, hype and rigging and done solely on merit!
